Elstead Lighting’s roots go back to a village forge first recorded in 1686. Since 1969 the Lucas family has turned that blacksmithing heritage into decorative lighting – traditional lanterns, wall lights, chandeliers and table lamps – with a particular strength in weather-ready outdoor lighting. Elstead began life as a village forge, first recorded in 1686. When Geoffrey Lucas took over the dormant forge in 1965 he made fire baskets and a few lights – and the lights proved so popular that by 1969, when Stephen Lucas joined, the business had become Elstead Lighting. It is still family owned today, led by Jonathan Lucas.
That blacksmithing heritage shows in the range. Traditional welding and patination skills are still used for wrought-iron and painted-metal fittings, alongside plated and solid-brass designs and bespoke shades. Lanterns, bollards and post-top lights are built for life outdoors, with many rated IP44 for use in all weathers.
Elstead also brings several leading international lighting brands to its customers, including Hinkley, Kichler, Quoizel, Flambeau and Norlys – all of which you can shop here alongside Elstead’s own collections.
Many Elstead outdoor fittings are rated IP44 or higher for use outside. Each product page shows its IP rating, and our team can help you choose the right fitting for an exposed location.
Elstead also distributes Hinkley, Kichler, Quoizel, Flambeau and Norlys. You can shop those brands on our site too.
It depends on the fitting. Some models include an integrated LED; others take a standard lamp such as E27 or E14. Each product page shows exactly what is included.
